Florida State University School of Dance is seeking a collaborative and innovative dance artist to join our esteemed faculty as an Assistant Professor of Dance in Contemporary Techniques. This is a tenure track position. Qualifications include a demonstrated teaching ability in one or more contemporary techniques or studio and performance practices, as well as an MFA degree in dance or comparable professional experience and credentials. The ability to teach in one or more of the following will also be required: improvisation, dance composition, movement analysis, pedagogy, dance technology, dance and video, dance science, somatic practices, or repertory. Additional duties will include mentoring and directing student work, academic advising, and participating in student assessment and audition processes, appropriate committee membership, and recruitment activities.
