Closing Date for applications:
16 November 2014

Post to start:
Autumn 2015

The University of Leeds is seeking to recruit an exceptional early career academic to a tenure track equivalent Academic Fellowship in Digital Performance.

Digital Performance has emerged out of two mutually informing sets of knowledge: performance knowledge as a basis for understanding digital practices (e.g. human-computer interaction) and digital or technological knowledge as a realm for performance philosophy and practice.  The School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds has a long-standing reputation for research in this area. We are seeking an Academic Fellow to further extend and support these activities.

The successful candidate will develop a sustained record of excellent publications and presentations at international conferences. Working in partnership with a mentor, the post-holder will organize seminars and symposia with international speakers, network at events and build collaborations. The post-holder will submit grant applications for a personal fellowship and small individual or networking research grants, as well as working collaboratively to submit larger grants.  Duties will also include co-supervision of PhDs, contribution to the current teaching, and participation in the development of future postgraduate provision in the area of Digital Performance.

Applicants should have significant proven research experience within the field of Digital Performance, the ability to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and a clear and compelling vision for personal academic development.
