Would you like to be at the forefront of dance in the liberal arts? Are you a dynamic, innovative dance teacher/artist committed to student learning and mentoring in an urban, diverse setting?  Do you have an expertise teaching ballet or modern/contemporary dance technique and enjoy creative activities and/or theoretical inquiry? Do you have other specialties and skills that would enhance a distinguished curriculum? If so, then you may be an ideal person to join our faculty.

We invite your application for one of two positions, both at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track or non-tenure track - based on qualifications), beginning August 2015.  Our new colleague must have expertise and/or teaching abilities in one or more techniques (modern/contemporary dance or ballet) or studio and performance practices.  Based on your unique skills, your teaching load will also include one or more of the following courses: partnering, pointe, improvisation, pedagogy, dance technology, dance history, dance science (anatomy), non-western dance forms, composition, and/or another area of expertise.  You should also have previous experience creating original choreography; restaging works; and rehearsing and coaching for performances. Additional duties include mentoring student projects; advising dance majors; participating in student assessments and audition processes; serving on departmental and college committees, and participating in recruitment activities. Qualifications include a terminal degree and/or substantial professional experience and credentials at the time of appointment.
