The School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies is seeking an Associate/Full Professor in Dance to assume a leadership role and to teach in the Graduate Dance MFA program, and the Undergraduate Dance Major. Responsibilities will include teaching/mentoring (with release time for administrative duties), administration of the dance area, service to the School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies, the campus, and the field, and creative or scholarly research that is recognized nationally and/or internationally.

Minimum Qualifications are:

  • ·      Bachelor of Arts
  • ·      Terminal degree or demonstrated equivalent
  • ·      Administrative experience in dance in higher education
  • ·      10 or more years of teaching or scholarship in higher education in one or more of the following:
    Dance education, somatics, Laban Movement Analysis, cultural dance studies, dance technology, contemporary dance techniques, pedagogy of choreography

Preferences are:

  • ·      Experience with NASD accreditation and national and international dance organizations
  • ·      Experience and demonstrated success navigating the unique attributes of a diverse body of students, faculty, and administrators
  • ·      Demonstrated ability to balance leadership with collaboration, research, teaching and ambassadorship of the dance program
