Dixie Durr Award for Outstanding Service to Dance Research

Nominations due by February 15, 2016.

This award recognizes the indispensable aid rendered the field of dance studies by people who sustain existing structures, institutions, and organizations for dance research.  The award calls attention to superlative labor, especially, but not limited to, unpaid labor performed for extended periods of time.  Such labor might make professional organizations run efficiently, ease and facilitate the use of archives or collections; or aid grant-writing or publication processes.  The Committee may entertain additional formulations of "service” so long as they do not conflict with the Outstanding Scholarly Research category.

To nominate, include as many of the following materials as you can:
  • a letter of nomination stating the nature and duration of the nominee’s service activity and its significance to dance studies.
  • the nominee's curriculum vitae, if you have access to it
  • any additional relevant materials to support the case
  • a declaration of your interest in nominating the candidate, if any

Email nominations should include "Dixie Durr Award" in the subject line and be emailed, along with any questions, to awards@cordance.org.
